Folks, I have something new and exciting to share! It’s a 2.5-hour video (plus handouts) called 4 Elemental Stories of Tarot, and it’s available now for download.
It all started years ago during an episode of the Fortune’s Wheelhouse podcast. My co-host Mel and I were talking about Cups as a watery suit, and we got to thinking about how they might relate to the Hanged Man, which corresponds to elemental water. Whoa! I thought. What a fascinating idea. I made a note to myself to think about it later.
Over the last couple years I came back to that idea over and over, scrawling notes to myself about water and the concept of surrender, or air and the quest for knowledge, and so on and so forth. I had the chance to present some of these thoughts as a talk at the Northwest Tarot Symposium in March of this year. But I wanted to crystallize them into a form anyone could view and learn from - so as lockdown changed all our worlds in unimaginable ways, I got to work producing a video.
It’s been an incredible journey delving deep into the Judgement, Hanged Man, Fool, and World cards. I’ve come out with stories of tricksters and goddesses, heroes and enchanters; and I’ve seen how they might arise in our own seemingly mundane lives through the symbols and codes of the tarot.
I’ll hope you’ll find these stories a key to unlocking some of your own mysteries, and guiding others on their own adventures.
Fire, Water, Air, Earth - these primordial forces weave a rich tapestry through the symbolism of the tarot. In this 2 1/2-hour workshop, you'll learn how each element tells its secret story, how it shows up in your own everyday life, and ways to look for it in a tarot reading. This presentation is the culmination of 2 years of thinking about the elements in tarot, and several months of research and production (I gave a preliminary version of it at the 2020 NWTS conference in Oregon).
Here I share much of my own understanding of the interrelationships between the major and minor arcana - as well as a vast vocabulary of meanings drawn from 25 years in divination. My hope is that you'll use these stories to deepen your own understanding of the cards - and use them as a springboard to discover a trove of myths, tales, romances, and legends within the magical arc of your own life.
